Starting a new site is never that easy, but we’re here to help you get started. The following page contains all resources and details of what you’ll need to get started with your new website.
A DOMAIN NAME
You’ll need an address for your new site, for example johndoe.com. If you already have a domain name great!
If not you can check out providers such as GoDaddy.com or eNom.com for domain name availability.
Also note, that with most hosting providers you can get a domain name for free, so if you don’t have hosting yet, check the next step, and get both in one!
Websites are hosted, or stored, on special computers called servers. You’ll need a reliable hosting provider that allows you to install WordPress.org, that will be your content management system of CMS.
Now you have hosting and a domain name for your site, you’ll need a Content Management System (CMS). CMS quite literally allows you to control and manage the content within your web site – without technical training. We use WordPress.org.
Adding its simple, most hosting providers offer a one-click install of WordPress.
If not, you can download WordPress.org and check out our tutorial on getting started.
If you’ve got all the above items, you’re ready to start making something awesome. Check out our themes, choose the one you like and then review the documentation to get started. Check out our themes page to learn more about our themes.
