KayLa Ruiz | How to Create Content that Goes Viral | FloInsider Ep #8
We’re happy to see you at episode #8 of FloInsider – a podcast for creative entrepreneurs who want a fresh perspective on business, communication, art, design, branding, and life as we know it.

Today, our wonderful hosts, Saori & DeVante from Spirit of Revelry, are having a chat with KayLa Ruiz. KayLa is an amazing photographer specializing in Couples and Solo portraiture.
You’ve probably seen KayLa’s work online. Her steamy photoshoots and couple sessions stand out from most of the photos that you see online due to how passionate, raw, and intimate they feel.

In this interview, KayLa shares her process of organizing Personal Shoots and Stranger Sessions, and how to keep your models feeling comfortable, confident, and empowered. She also talks about her experience of going viral this year.
If you consider starting offering intimate, steamy photoshoots to your clients, or if you’re looking for some fresh perspective on how to create new, authentic content for your portfolio – this episode is a Must-Listen!
Here are a few cliff notes from the interview with KayLa Ruiz, yet be sure to give it a full listen:
- As a photographer, it’s vital to find a balance between concept shoots (i.e. the shoots that YOU want to do) and the paid shoots. You need to feed your creativity and allow yourself to have fun at work. This way your glass will always be full. It’s the only way to keep enjoying your job!
- As cliché as it sounds, the number of your followers doesn’t matter unless all of them turn into your clients (which sounds pretty unreal). The number of your followers doesn’t determine how good, talented, or successful you are as a photographer. So stop worrying about the numbers.
- When life gets busy and stressful, don’t forget to take care of yourself physically and mentally. Turning on the “Do Not Disturb” mode on your phone, spending less time on social media, and getting enough sleep are just some of the things that might do the trick.
